The masterpiece of the Stoclet Palace
Blissful and serene, a man and a woman, one in the arms of another… It is the fulfillment following the erotic ecstasy… With an opulence of decorative elements, Gustav Klimt masterfully transformed an erotic embrace in a transcendent moment. In the absence of the third dimension, the two bodies look like one. The arabesque of the clothes, the winding branches in the background and the "eye" dispersed in the composition, all enhance the mystical union of the couple, recalling a heavenly image.
The artwork, created from 1905 to 1909 with mixed technique, is part of Klimt’s famous triptych decorating the Stoclet Palace in Brussels. Collect it right now in an excellent copy!
