The Icon of Panagia Ekatontapiliani of Paros. It is one of the most important well-preserved early Christian monuments found in Greek territory and indeed the largest in size. According to tradition, the original building of this temple was the work of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine the Great and Saint Constantine to fulfill the wish of his mother, Saint Helen.
At this point, it is mentioned that during the journey of Mother Helen to the Holy Land, due to a great storm, the ship she was on was forced to take refuge in Paros. There, Agia Eleni praying to the Virgin Mary, at the end of her journey ordered to build a magnificent church dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin. This dream was realized by her son Constantine the Great by building a three-aisled basilica around the 4th century AD.
