Impressive necklace modeled after an imaginative design by RomaindeTirtoff (French, born Russia, 1892-1990), better known as Erté (French, born Russia, 1892-1990).
Erté had a multifaceted career as a designer of spectacular costumes and sets. He was also known for the covers in Harper'sBazaar magazine, published between 1915 and 1936. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (TheMET) houses an important collection of original gouaches by Erté.
