A replica statue associated with the cult of the ancient Egyptian queen, Nefertiti. It is one of the most beautiful treasures of the Louvre Museum and the famous Department of Egyptian Antiquities.
The statue probably represents a stylized and exaggerated form of the body of Queen Nefertiti, wife of Akhenaten. The exaggerated size of her hips and thighs are believed to evoke the source of life, while the arrangements of linear folds across her body suggest solar rays. The ensemble gives a sense of grace from the subtle movement of the pleats of the tunic, very fashionable in the time of the Pharaohs.
This beautiful replica is made of handmade resin in France delivered on its marble base, and is certified with the museums seal, height 32.50 cm, width 10 cm, depth 12 cm. The original statue, now housed in the Louvre in Paris, is a striking example of the el-Armana style of art that became popular during the reign of the Egyptian king Akhenaton (r.1351-1334 BC).
